What can go into our bins? 

Although it’s looking all doom and gloom right now with acres of garbage floating around our oceans, the most we can do is prevent any more from reaching our marine friends. Apart from not using single use plastics, we should strive to recycle everything we can. Recycling unfortunately isn’t as simple as putting empty plastics in the yellow container outside our homes, as any contamination could lead to all of our recyclable stuff being thrown at the landfill instead.

It means little if the sustainable disposable fork is thrown away along with plastic, it’s never going to be recycled. And sometimes our eco-friendly products are made from recycled products, and that’s a big plus in my books. As Dr Seuss says, ‘Speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues’, or in this case our lovely planet! Check your local council, and ask where does all recyclables go to.
